The Wilderness Road, Virginia's Heritage Migration Route is an initiative created by Delegate Benny Keister to create a cultural heritage trail along the Wilderness Road. This idea has been developed by the Virginia Tourism Corporation in collaboration with all of the communities along the route. The trail has been called many different names throughout history, and is actually a collection of trails, all of which were used in the westward migration early in our history. The communities have chosen sites and events that reflect this rich history to be included in a brochure, and even more are available through their website, WildernessRoadVA.org.
